Middle School will be Benchmarking during math this week, Today 6th Gold, 8 Green and 7 Gold went to the computer lab to work on their math benchmark. Since we will be using math class to benchmark the class pages will not be updated as frequently this week. Also, there will not be "assigned" homework; so students need to be utilizing ALEKS 3-5 times this week to keep their math minds fresh!
Tomorrow 6 White, 8 Gold and 7 White will be benchmarking.
Holy Spirit had a wonderful Mass with out Sister Parish. We are having a $2.00 jeans day Friday to help raise money for new uniforms for the students in Honduras!
Middle School did not make it to the computer lab today because 4th and 5th are benchmarking. Middle School is starting benchmarks next week. I will be taking all classes to the lab to benchmark. When they finish their benchmarks, we will set Aleks goals! Students still need to get on ALEKS even tho their are no goals set for this coming week!
What a great spirit week! Just a reminder, Monday is the middle school dress out day for non conduct/uniform reminders. Also, progress report grades have been moved to Monday, but you can check the on line grade book any time.
7th graders, you were given the code to re-new your subscription last Wednesday! I just authorized a few students just now, this needed to be done Friday!
Hello!!
Sorry for the late post! The server has been down at school, and I am just getting home to my computer to give you some updates! Not only has the server been down, but so has the on line grade book. I will be entering grades tonight, so they should show up on your end by tomorrow.
Mrs. Moran, Mrs. G and I went to the National Middle School Association Conference last week and had a great time and learned a lot. I came back to a wonderful report from my Substitute! Thanks Middle School!
Aleks goals are due Wednesday! Some 7th graders need to get on tonight and renew their subscription!
All ACE assignments that were assigned today, are due Monday due to tomorrow's service day!
Looking forwards to growing to greatness tomorrow during our faith filled Friday!
Just as a reminder, ALEKS goals are due on Wednesdays. This is a WEEKLY goal, students should not be waiting til Tuesday night to start their ALEKS homework. There are many times through out the week where students can take the Initiative to ask to get on ALEKS during the school day. Before specials, Wednesdays before Mass, after school at extended care, ISP time, Cadet teaching, etc.
Excellent night of conferences! The students did a great job communicating their goals and data! I hope everyone has a wonderful fall break! 8 Green, 7 White and 7 Gold went to the lab to work on ALEKS today. I did not see 6th grade or 8 Gold. Aleks goals are due 11/2. Don't wait til 11/1 to start working,.
We will hold our Halloween Party on Monday, October 31 at 2pm. All are welcome to join us. If you would like to send in a sweet treat with your child, we will put it on the dessert table. We will be providing non-dessert foods for them. Thanks!
Please be on time for student led conferences tonight. Check the class pages for updates. 8 Green, 7 White and 7 Gold did not meet today due to noon dismissal.
All classes went to the Lab to work on ALEKS. Students did a much better job at meeting their goals this week, but some students still need to make ALEKS a priority at home and during their free time at school. Check the class pages for updates
ALEKS goals are due tomorrow. ALL students are expected to meet their weekly ALEKS goals. Even students that don't have regular Internet. There are many times throughout the week that students can get on ALEKS at school. During homeroom time, ISP time, before Mass, or end of the period work time. Please encourage your child to use ALEKS through out the week!
Aleks goals are due Wednesday! Please have your child get on ALEKS 3-5 nights a week. If your child does not have Internet, or ALEKS does not work, please send me an e mail. There are many times throughout the week that your child can get on ALEKS. They need to take Imitative to ask a teacher if they can get on during the day! Especially during ISP time.
Just a friendly reminder that students need to be getting on ALEKS every night! Many classes do not have homework tonight, so this would be a perfect ALEKS night!
Check the class pages for updates
All classes went to the lab today to work on ALEKS. As a whole, all students met their goal from last week to this week, and some went beyond! WOW! Some students still need to get in practice of using ALEKS a few nights a week. Their weekly goals are going to be counted as homework grades. Ask your child how they did on their ALEKS goal, and what their goal is this week.
Check out www.aleks.com with your child tonight to see what they are working on! All students received a login (and their password is the same) and started an assessment. All students also received an ALEKS log sheet that must be kept in their math binders under the handouts section.
This program is based on your child's individual needs and can help our child grow! Please support and encourage your child to get on ALEKS as much as possible. Now when there is "no ACE" assigned, your child can be working towards their weekly goal! Please note, the goals that are set on Wednesday's are WEEKLY goals and should be be expected to be completed in one sitting. So it is not recommended that students try to finish their weekly goal on Tuesday night!
Homework for each student is to finish their assessment by 10/12. If they completed their assessment in class, their homework is to complete there assigned number of objectives on their log sheet by 10/12.
if you have any questions or concerns, please e mail me! :)
Can you believe we are approaching the end of the first 9 weeks! Please keep checking the blogs and assignment notebooks for homework assignments and assessment dates. Also, don't forget to check the on line grade book.

I know at back to school night we talked about ALEKS being incorporated your child's grades. This is still the plan, but between benchmarking and construction being done on the computer lab, we have not been able to go to the lab as a class to go over procedures and update accounts. I will keep you posted on when we will be going to the lab asap!
Remember, progress reports come out this Friday. We will not printing out progress reports. They will be available to view on line, but feel free to view your child's grade at any time! We encourage your feedback or questions about grades or assignments. Also, please note that there may not be a lot of grades for some classes, or there may be many completion/participation type grades. During the first few weeks of school, we spend a lot of time establishing our classroom culture, community and procedures.
Please check the class pages for updates!
