Fall Break!

Excellent night of conferences!  The students did a great job communicating their goals and data!  I hope everyone has a wonderful fall break!  8 Green, 7 White and 7 Gold went to the lab to work on ALEKS today.  I did not see 6th grade or 8 Gold.  Aleks goals are due 11/2.  Don't wait til 11/1 to start working,. 

Halloween Party

We will hold our Halloween Party on Monday, October 31 at 2pm.  All are welcome to join us.  If you would like to send in a sweet treat with your child, we will put it on the dessert table.   We will be providing non-dessert foods for them.  Thanks!

Wednesday!

All classes went to the Lab to work on ALEKS.  Students did a much better job at meeting their goals this week, but some students still need to make ALEKS a priority at home and during their free time at school.  Check the class pages for updates

Tuesday

ALEKS goals are due tomorrow.  ALL students are expected to meet their weekly ALEKS goals.  Even students that don't have regular Internet.  There are many times throughout the week that students can get on ALEKS at school.  During homeroom time, ISP time, before Mass, or end of the period work time.  Please encourage your child to use ALEKS through out the week!

Monday

Aleks goals are due Wednesday!  Please have your child get on ALEKS 3-5 nights a week.  If your child does not have Internet, or ALEKS does not work, please send me an e mail.  There are many times throughout the week that your child can get on ALEKS.  They need to take Imitative to ask a teacher if they can get on during the day!  Especially during ISP time.

End of 1st quarter!

Today was the last day of the first 9 weeks!  Middle School has done a great job!  Keep it up!

Thursday

Just a friendly reminder that students need to be getting on ALEKS every night!  Many classes do not have homework tonight, so this would be a perfect ALEKS night!

First day of Aleks Grades

All classes went to the lab today to work on ALEKS.  As a whole, all students met their goal from last week to this week, and some went beyond! WOW!  Some students still need to get in practice of using ALEKS a few nights a week.  Their weekly goals are going to be counted as homework grades.  Ask your child how they did on their ALEKS goal, and what their goal is this week.

The end of the grading period is Friday!  Remember to check the on line grade book.

As a reminder, ALEKS goals need to be worked on daily!  And there is nothing wrong with working beyond the set goal!  Check the class pages for updates!

We got in the lab to go to work on Aleks today!

Check out www.aleks.com with your child tonight to see what they are working on!  All students received a login (and their password is the same) and started an assessment.  All students also received an ALEKS log sheet that must be kept in their math binders under the handouts section. 

This program is based on your child's individual needs and can help our child grow!  Please support and encourage your child to get on ALEKS as much as possible.  Now when there is "no ACE"  assigned, your child can be working towards their weekly goal!  Please note, the goals that are set on Wednesday's are WEEKLY goals and should be be expected to be completed in one sitting.  So it is not recommended that students try to finish their weekly goal on Tuesday night!

Homework for each student is to finish their assessment by 10/12. If they completed their assessment in class, their homework is to complete there assigned number of objectives on their log sheet by 10/12.

Can you believe we are approaching the end of the first 9 weeks!  Please keep checking the blogs and assignment notebooks for homework assignments and assessment dates.  Also, don't forget to check the on line grade book. 

Fingers crossed that middle school get to go to the computer lab tomorrow!  I have gotten good reports from other teachers that the lab is up and running well!

What a great day!  The Middle School Student Council speeches were awesome!  Great job to all students that participated.  The other students did a great job being active listeners and were very supportive.  The schedule was different today, so some classes did not meet.  Check the class pages for updates.
